Up to date.

it has been a while since the unforgettable Talent Show. What has happened since then? Well, what hasn't happened since then?

I have moved sublets for the month of October, to a beautiful apartment on Prenzlauer Allee. I will have to take some photos, I just can't believe how much space you can have for 310 Euros a month. I have two roommates, one is very sweet and the other is a complete asshole who has absolutely no problem with letting me know how much he dislikes me.... but I am just as good at that game.

Fabio had a concert last Friday at a club in Kreuzberg, he was amazing. He is such an interesting guy, his songs are so explicit but then when you see him and talk to him he is all sweetness and childlike innocence. This time he was wearing a pleather unitard and cam-o miniskirt, pink contacts and now the mullet is black. Charming, really. He was by far the best on the program and we danced like fools.

The next day, Barbie convinced me to go to a casting call for dancers. We in no way expected anything whatsoever. We came home with jobs and a good many laughs.

The call was for a fashion/hair show, they originally wanted three dancers but ended up liking five of us. We basically just improvised one bit and they made their decision in about a half hour. Our cast members were Barb, myself, Melea from Greece, and Rebecca and Jon from different states in the States. Quite lovely people, well, Jon was a bit of an idiot. He was our subject of ridicule for the next few days. That sounds mean but if you only met the guy, you'd've done the same. Not a dancer but a DJ, used to run a club in Barcelona, and now he's in Berlin talking himself up to anything and everything. The man can't dance, he ended up blanking on stage and getting us late for the next bit, good thing he was dancing with professionals who could cover for him...

Sunday night we got our hair cut and that was when I realised just how cool this gig was, totally worth hanging out with Jon for the two and a half days. The Hair Show we were performing in was Tim Hartley's bit. Tim Hartley, one of the founders of Vidal Sassoon, these hairstylists don't make appointments with just anyone. Tim ended up cutting Barbie's hair and my hair was cut by this amazing guy named Mondo. Mondo runs his own Salon in the UK as well, I think they liked us because we actually spoke to them. I get the sense that the models don't say anything... or have anything to say possibly.

Speaking of models... Benjamin! Benjamin was our favorite, Barbie and I watched them practice a walk for about half an hour and Benjamin being the cutest was the leader and kept forgetting the simple walking pattern, finally the Italian choreographer pulled a typical Italian maneuver and held his fingers to his thumb and cursed Benjamin's name to the heavens on the microphone for all to hear. Benny didn't get it, just paused waiting for instruction.

So, we got 300 Euro hair cuts, got to wear full work coveralls, cover Jon's blunders, wear black lipstick, eat in front of models, enjoy free food and coffee for two days and get paid.

Yesterday, we went to the zoo and my favorites were the Giraffes, the Anteater, the roaring Lion, the Sandcats, and the nocturnal wild dogs with huge ears.
