It's early November, I have moved for the last time until I head back home. I fly home in a month and I have to say that I am incredibly excited for this. I can't wait to see my parents, friends, cat, students and city. Vancouver really has grown on me since I left. I'm sure that when I'll be there in a month I'll be cursing the constant grey sky, the lack of arts or well... anything but right now I think of Vancouver with fond memories. It's beautiful scenery, Kingsgate Mall, Our Town cafe, my bus stop on Great Northern Way, Salsa dancing at the HoJo on Kingsway, Chinatown, North Vancouver, and yes even Granville Island. I look forward to dancing with my friends, cuddling with my beloved little Chester, seeing the smiling faces at Arts Umbrella, walking along the seawall with my Mom, and working a few shifts at Cheesecake Etc.

I really didn't think I'd miss Vancouver, but I realise just what a beautiful place it is and how it will always be thought of as home. Vancouver is where I went to school, had my first job, where most of my friends live and are making homes for themselves, also where my family is. Even though it's grey ten months of the year (ok, slight exaggeration) and it almost always rains, it is a pretty great place.

It could really have a few more things going on, I wish they weren't so uptight about nightlife, not all of us are drunken assholes, I wish the architecture didn't obscure the glorious view, I wish it were warmer in the summer, I wish it weren't next to Surrey but it still has a strong hold on my heart and there's really nothing I can do about it.

That said, I've got another month here in Berlin, I've got a couple of shows in the next few weeks and have just had a wonderful string of visits, my cousins and Aunt last week, and my two friends Michelle and Julie tomorrow. I plan to take classes with my favorite teacher Gabriel from Columbia and ride Goldie until she can't squeak no more.
