I had two friends join me here in Berlin recently. One named Caroline, one named Rena. They came to participate in a Forsythe Improvisation workshop with Tamas Geza Moricz. We danced like maniacs for a week, six hours a day. Bliss. After dance we often hung out at the Wombar with several complimentary drink tickets. (What is a Wombar?)
There were plenty of lovely and inspiring dancers in the class as well, my favorite was a Swede named Joel, he came Salsa dancing with me and boy did we ever clear the floor. Not because we were dangerously haphazard but because we were amazing, it must have been from what we were learning that week with Tamas, we were so on the same page.
Unfortunately, Rena left on Monday, back to Frankfurt and then off to somewhere from there. Caroline is here til Friday. We had chocolate fendu at the Ritter Sport cafe today. It was also bliss. Tomorrow, we're cooking dinner together and hopefully going to check out the East Side Gallery as well. The ESG is a portion of the wall that was rebuilt and painted mural style for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Though it has been cold these days, it has been stunningly gorgeous out so I think tomorrow might be a good day to walk the gallery.
The fun doesn't stop at Friday, we'll be meeting up in Frankfurt in a couple of weeks and then heading off to Paris, for about four days. Baguettes, Museums and Pashminas, that's what I'm looking forward to. Then off to Groningen to support the Arts Umbrella Senior Dance Company on their big European tour.
As Bret and Jemaine would say "Friends stick together, la la la la. Pop and lock together, la la la la"
What is this you speak of? RITTER SPORT CAFE??!! Photos please!
